Beauty and aesthetic definitions vary for everyone. The perception of buttock aesthetics also differs. Important factors to consider include the buttocks being proportionate to the body and hips, having sufficient prominence when viewed from the side, and having a smooth, rounded appearance. Different techniques are used to shape the buttocks according to individual needs.
Buttock aesthetics with fat injection
In buttock aesthetic procedures, fat cells harvested via liposuction from areas such as the abdomen, hips, waist, and back undergo a purification process. These purified fat cells are then injected into various layers of the buttock area in microdroplets, depending on the specific needs of the patient. These transplanted fat cells integrate into their new environment, behaving similarly to their original location, thereby increasing the volume and enhancing the shape of the buttocks. Additionally, fat harvesting from the waist area can further define the buttock contours, contributing to achieving an ideal body proportion for the individual.
The fat injection method for buttock aesthetics has several notable advantages. It allows for slimming of the donor areas where fat is harvested, particularly reducing unwanted excess fat from the waist and abdomen. Additionally, it helps improve the body silhouette and assists in correcting the transition between the waist and hip regions, which is especially beneficial for enhancing the contour of the waist and hips. Another advantage of this method is the long-term safety and effectiveness of using the patient’s own tissue for buttock augmentation. Furthermore, the procedure involves minimal incisions (typically just a few millimeters) through which injection cannulas are used, without the need for surgical cuts, which is another benefit.
Buttock aesthetics with silicone implants
Silicone implants commonly preferred in buttock augmentation surgeries can be more permanent. Silicone implants used for buttock aesthetic surgeries, resembling those used in breast augmentation procedures, exhibit significant differences in shape. They are designed to facilitate achieving the appropriate shape for the buttock area.
Buttock silicone implants can be placed in three different ways in the buttock area: subfascial (above the muscle fascia), submuscular (under the gluteal muscle), and intramuscular (within the gluteal muscle). Each method has its own advantages. In the intramuscular method, silicone implants are placed into a pocket created deep within the large gluteal muscle. It is advantageous in buttock aesthetics using silicone implants placed within the muscle, as the implants being enveloped by both sides of the large gluteal muscle provides significant benefits. This prevents the silicone from being felt upon touch and also prevents it from exerting pressure on deep structures in the buttock area, thus reducing the risk of pain.
After surgery, patients can lie down in a suitable position, stand, or walk. The recovery period for buttock aesthetic surgery is typically about one week. However, patients are advised to avoid prolonged sitting on their buttocks for about one week.
